Mark Matthews
Mark is the lead singer and piano player for Who’s Debbie. He formed the band with his wife Krissy and guitarist Kyle in 2023. Shortly after Chris O, Brandon and Chris “Otis” Adams rounded out the sound that is now “Who’s Debbie”.
“Playing music is my drug of choice in life” is his mantra. From his YouTube channel “tronious” that’s garnered millions of views for his solo covers to jamming with his musical kids to the now popular Who’s Debbie, he will be playing music until the lights go out.
Brandon Datz
Brandon began singing music throughout his home well before the age of 10. He had always had a passion for singing, and in 1993, at the young age of 15, took that passion to playing the guitar. From 1994 through 1996, he, along with a few close friends, created the band Monorchid. The group played a mix of alternative rock, classic rock, and grunge music.
The next 7 years would prove to be an exploratory period for Brandon musically. He played acoustically in bars and coffehouses during his travels through Nebraska, Colorado, California, and Montana, before settling back in Pennsylvania. His musical choices would span jazz, reggae, blues, rock and pop during this time period.
Between 2003 and 2008 he was a guitarist/vocalist in the band White Cheddar, simply classified as a fusion of hard rock, classic rock, metal, and punk. The group performed all over western Pennsylvania in a wide variety of venues.
While performing with White Cheddar, he started a side acoustic project with Ben Cope called The Dope Catz in the spring of 2004. They enjoyed playing a diverse blend of rock, reggae, southern rock amongst other genres.
2008 would then see the formation of the band Yinz Guyz—Pittsburgh’s Premier Party band. Again, Brandon shared guitar and vocal duties in the band, traversing classic rock, metal, and alternative covers. The band would ultimately disband in late 2009, as most members began to have families of their own.
Brandon would take a brief hiatus from live performance to focus on home and to start a family. It wasn’t until winter 2013 that he would team up and join the country rock band, Iron City Slickers. He played both electric and acoustic guitars in the band, as well as shared vocals in his first ever country endeavor until 2017.
Following another extended hiatus from music between 2017-2023, he began to feel the urge to pick up the guitar again. He started by playing/recording together with his good friend, guitarist/vocalist, Chris Adams, and pianist/vocalist, Mark Matthews, in Mark’s basement on a track in mid-2023. Soon they, along with Mark’s wife, vocalist/bass guitarist, Krissy, guitarist Kyle Shenk, and drummer Chris Oliver would join forces to form the band Who’s Debbie? The band is a mix of classic rock, 90s alternative rock, 2000s and today’s rock and pop hits.
Chris Oliver
Chris is the drummer for Who’s Debbie?. He joined the band towards the end of 2023 to round out the members. Chris began playing the drums and guitar in early middle school, and continued to play throughout high school. Once college rolled around, his playing took a backseat to the rest of adult life. He’d still play as a hobby in his spare time, though, even if it was Rock Band with friends instead of a real instrument. He recently started playing more often again, and just happened to find out his neighbors were looking for a drummer for their new band. The rest, as they say, is history. Or current events. Whichever.
